Phenoxyzone Injection

1) Composition:
a) Oxytetracycline: 1g
b) Chloramphenicol: 10g
c) Lidocane chlorhydrate: 1g
d) Dexamethasone: 0.1g
2) Excipient: q.s. 100ml
3) Uses: the association of two major antibiotics, the oxytetracycline and
chloramphenicol, gives to Phenoxyzone a broad antiinfectious spectrum. All the
bacterial infections are covered: navel ill, arthritis, metritis, respiratory diseases,
enteritis, skin lesions, interdigital eczema, kerato-conjunctivitis, colibacillosis,
salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, mycoplasmosis, rickettsiosis. The dexamethasone is
efficient against inflammation, pain and allergy. As a consequence, the animal
recovers more quickly due to the synergical effect onanimals (movement,
respiration, digestion). The lidocaine permits a non painful injection.
4) Indications: cattle. Used against gram + and gram - bacterial infections, ricketts,
mycoplasmosis
5) Administration: deep intramuscular injection
6) Dosage: one daily injection, for 3 to 5 days in succession. 10 ml for 100kg weight
7) Warning: not to be used on pregnant females during the last third of pregnancy
8) Withdrawal time:
a) Meat and offal: 14 days
b) Milk: 6 days
9) Storage: to be stored away from light and heat
10) Presentation: 50 ml, 100ml vial
